Advanced diagnosis, surgical expertise and comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for cancers of the urinary and male reproductive systems.
Cancer affecting the urinary system requires timely diagnosis, expert surgical management and a multidisciplinary approach to achieve the best possible outcomes. At ILSS Hospital's Centre of Excellence for Urological Cancer Care, we provide comprehensive evaluation, advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive surgical treatment and personalised care for patients diagnosed with cancers of the kidneys, bladder, prostate, ureters, urethra, penis and testes.
Led by experienced urologists Dr. Tanuj Paul Bhatia and Dr. Sumit More, our centre combines clinical expertise with advanced technology to deliver evidence-based cancer care focused on organ preservation, improved survival and enhanced quality of life. Every patient receives a personalised treatment plan based on the type, stage and extent of the disease, supported by multidisciplinary tumour board consultations.
From early detection to advanced surgery, we provide complete care across every major urological cancer.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. Early detection through PSA testing, DRE, MRI and prostate biopsy allows timely treatment and significantly improves outcomes. Treatment options range from active surveillance to radical prostatectomy, hormone therapy and systemic therapy when indicated.
Kidney cancer often remains silent in its early stages. Symptoms may include blood in urine, flank pain, an abdominal lump or unexplained weight loss. Treatment includes kidney-sparing partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic surgery and systemic therapy in advanced disease.
Bladder cancer commonly presents with painless blood in urine. Our services include diagnostic cystoscopy, TURBT, intravesical therapy, radical cystectomy and long-term surveillance for recurrence.
Testicular cancer is highly curable, particularly when diagnosed early, and is treated with radical inguinal orchidectomy and tumour marker evaluation. Penile cancer treatment focuses on organ-preserving surgery whenever possible. We also diagnose and manage cancers of the ureter, renal pelvis and urethra, individualised to tumour location, stage and patient health.

Risk factors include age above 50, smoking and tobacco use, family history of cancer, obesity, occupational chemical exposure, chronic urinary tract infections, and genetic mutations.
Yes. Many urological cancers are highly treatable and potentially curable when detected at an early stage. Regular health check-ups and prompt medical evaluation greatly improve treatment success.
Yes, whenever clinically appropriate. Minimally invasive and laparoscopic procedures offer smaller incisions, less blood loss, reduced pain, faster recovery and shorter hospital stay.
The impact depends on the type of cancer, stage of disease and surgical procedure. Our surgeons prioritise nerve-sparing and organ-preserving techniques whenever medically appropriate to maximise continence and sexual function.
Yes. Testicular cancer is one of the most curable cancers, especially when diagnosed early, with excellent cure rates with appropriate surgery and additional treatment when required.
Yes, bladder cancer has a higher chance of recurrence compared to many other cancers. Regular follow-up with cystoscopy, urine tests and imaging is essential for early detection of recurrence.
