Introduction
Dr. Tanuj Paul Bhatia is a highly experienced and accomplished Urologist and Chairman of Urology at ILSS Hospital, Faridabad. With more than 15 years of surgical experience, he has developed extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of kidney and urological conditions. He has performed more than 15,000 kidney and urological surgeries and has treated over 30,000 patients across India and worldwide, reflecting his extensive clinical experience and commitment to patient care.
Dr. Bhatia holds MBBS, MS and DNB (Urology) qualifications and has built his career around advanced urological and endourological procedures. His areas of special interest include laser urological surgeries, stone surgeries, HoLEP surgery, UroLift procedures, prostate surgery and bladder surgery. He has a particular focus on minimally invasive and laser-based techniques for the management of urinary stones, prostate conditions and other complex urological disorders.
Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Bhatia has held several important clinical and academic positions. His experience includes working as a Lecturer in the Department of General Surgery at Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, Nepal, followed by his role as Senior Resident in Urology at Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini, Delhi. He has subsequently served as Consultant Urologist and Senior Consultant Urologist at Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Center, Faridabad, as well as Associate Consultant in Urology at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. He has also served as Senior Consultant and Head of Department at the Institute of LASER Urological Surgeries before taking on his current leadership role as Chairman – Urology and Director at ILSS Hospital, Faridabad.
Dr. Bhatia is also actively involved in professional education, academic programmes and advanced surgical training. He has participated as faculty at several national and international conferences, including programmes in Dubai, Montreal, Istanbul and Cairo. He has delivered lectures and conducted live demonstrations of advanced procedures such as RIRS, HoLEP and ThuFLEP. He has also participated in flexible ureteroscopy courses and collaborated with international experts in endourology. His involvement as faculty and trainer in Uro-MET programmes has enabled him to train and mentor young urologists in advanced RIRS and HoLEP techniques.
His professional achievements include the Dr. R. Sitharaman Memorial Essay Competition Prize, the Annual Uroradiology Quiz award, the Lumenis “Best LASER Video” award at USICON 2017, multiple DUSCON Achiever’s Awards from the Delhi Urology Society, the Faculty of Eminence (FEISU) recognition from the Urological Society of India, and the Best LASER Video award at Advances in Endourology, Ahmedabad, in 2023.
